The first quarter of 2023 saw significant activity among the top business apps on Android in South Africa. Based on data from Sensor Tower, here is an overview of the performance trends for the top 5 business applications.

Microsoft Teams experienced a noticeable increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 2K at the end of December and peaking at around 26K by the end of February. The app maintained a steady weekly active user base, growing from roughly 75K at the start of the year to over 116K by the end of February, before stabilizing at around 108K by the end of March.

Resume Builder App, CV maker showed a strong start with downloads peaking at over 23K in early February. However, downloads gradually declined to around 11K by the end of March. The app’s active user base followed a similar trend, starting from about 40K at the end of December, peaking at over 86K in mid-January, and then tapering off to around 56K by the end of March.

Zoom Workplace demonstrated consistent performance in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads increased from roughly 4K at the end of December to a peak of around 18K in early February, before settling at around 11K by the end of March. Active users steadily increased from approximately 220K to over 306K during the quarter. Revenue saw a gradual rise, peaking at about $899 in mid-March.

LinkedIn: Jobs & Business News maintained strong weekly revenue, starting at approximately $8.9K and peaking at around $11.2K by the end of January. Downloads were robust, starting at about 8K and peaking at nearly 19K in early January. Active users remained high, starting at around 335K and peaking at over 390K in mid-January, before stabilizing at around 353K by the end of March.

Document Scan: PDF scanner saw a significant increase in downloads, starting from approximately 3.9K at the end of December and peaking at over 20K by mid-March. Active users followed this trend, growing from about 6.8K to nearly 29.4K during the same period.
